The Obscure Music Playlist

Since 2022 I have personally curated and maintained a playlist with one simple rule: If a track has less than 1 million plays, it is eligible for the playlist. Any genre. Many of these songs are from local artists I’ve met through the years. Some are obscure recordings by well known bands. Some are hit tracks from bands that never really made it but should’ve.

The playlist is organized by most streams in descending order. If a track hits 1 million streams it is removed, ensuring a steady stream of new obscure music. The opening tracks of the playlist will be gone soon. Some tracks are too obscure with low listenership and will never leave. They are still good songs. They were made by people. These people have stories that deserve to be heard.
